Learning Without Borders Week
Learning Without Borders Week is an exciting opportunity for Park Lane students to participate in activities and trips outside of their normal school curriculum. We aim to offer our students a wide range of experiences to enhance their classroom learning, make new friends, expand their horizons and have fun. Learning Without Borders Week is an integral part of the school year, supporting our students in developing and embedding the school’s ethos, centred on the 5 Rs and the IB Learner Profile.
Students in Years 7-12 will mix together and choose from a range of activities both in the Czech Republic and abroad. All activities will be organised and supervised by Park Lane staff, sometimes with the help of guides and trainers. Year 13 students will generally not be involved in LWBW, unless specifically required by their IB course. The cost of the activities varies. Some are free, while others can be more expensive, depending on the program and flights. Payment information will be shared with parents in May 2025. For some trips, students will need to bring money for food (lunch) and public transport tickets in Prague (if needed). All prices featured in this booklet are approximate; it is possible that prices will change according to the number of students attending each activity and the time of booking. These trips are often the highlight of our students' time in Secondary school and provide valuable educational experiences. We see them as an important part of our students' education and require every student to take part in one activity. If your child can't participate in the LWBW program for any reason, please contact Mr Paul Churchill ( Secondary School Headteacher) as soon as possible.
-
All students are required to select 3 options based on their preference. We will allocate places on a first come first served basis.
-
To make a reservation, please use the Registration forms. (To see the registration forms, see Trips and Activities pages.)
If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact the LWBW coordinators Alexandru Anea and Carley Johnson. For any questions related to payments, please contact our trips and clubs coordinator, Kristýna Zíková.
Essential Information
Activity selection process
-
The registration form (below) must be completed by 19th May at the latest.
-
If you have more children in years 7-12, please fill out a form for each of them.
-
We will confirm each student’s activity as soon as possible and this will be accompanied by a request for a deposit in order to secure the necessary bookings.
-
Students will choose 3 programs and rank them based on their preference.
-
The 3 choices can be a combination of local and/or international activities.
-
We will try our best to give students their number one choice, however, this is unfortunately not always possible.
Requirements
for each activity
-
Activities and trips will accommodate student numbers between 10 and 25.

If a certain activity does not meet the minimum number of students, we reserve the right to cancel it.
-
Students confirmed on cancelled trips and activities will have the chance to be selected for their second or third choices, if available.
Important notice: Please do not select the same activity more than once, it will make it less likely for your child to participate in their preferred activities.
